Dace Kārkle

Dace Kārkle is a graduate of the Stockholm School of Economics. To gain additional knowledge in finance and law related to finance, she completed the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) programme as well as the Masters Law and Finance programme of Riga Graduate School of Law.

She has been working at the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis since 2003, previously employed at Merz Pharma GmbH & Co. KGaA.

Since 2004, D. Kārkle has held the position of Deputy Director of financial, administrative, and legal matters at LIOS.

Starting from October 18, 2023, she serves as the Director of the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis.

In parallel with her work at LIOS, from 2010 to 2012, she was a board member and deputy chair of the board at SIA “Pharma and Chemistry Competence Centre of Latvia”.

Since 2022, she has been a board member at the Latvian Academy of Sport Education and a member of the International Advisory Board of the Institute of Electronics and Computer Science.

Dace Kārkle is also a member of the Finance and Management Committee of the European Association of Research Managers and Administrators (EARMA) since 2019. Since 2021, she has been leading the Knowledge and Technology Transfer Focus Group of the Central and Eastern European Research Organizations Association “Alliance for Life”.

Dace Kārkle has been honored with the Certificate of Appreciation from the Cabinet of Ministers (2023), the Solomon Hiller Medal (2020), and the Certificate of Appreciation from the Ministry of Education and Science (2017).
