Employee of IOS since 1991. PhD in chemistry from Latvian University in 2000. Postdoctoral studies at University of Perugia, Italy group of prof. R. Pellicciari in 2002. Principal scientist of LIOS since 2004. Head of Organic synthesis methodology group since 2006. In 2011, appointed as an associate professor at Riga Technical University. In 2013, elected as Corresponding Member of Latvian Academy of Sciences.

Working at OSI since 1991, Aigars Jirgensons earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Latvia in 2000. In 2002, he completed a research internship at the University of Perugia, Italy, under the supervision of Professor R. Pellicciari.

  • Lead Researcher at the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis (LIOS) since 2004.
  • Head of the Methodology Group for Organic Synthesis at LIOS since 2006.
  • Appointed as Associate Professor at Riga Technical University in 2011.
  • Promoted to the position of Professor at Riga Technical University in 2016.
  • Deputy Director for Scientific Research at the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis since 2017.
