New research in the field of material sciences and OLEDs

Research groups led by Dr. Pavel Arenyan (LIOS) and prof. Juozas Vidas Grazulevicius (Kaunas University of Technology) have identified a new electron-transporting semiconductors.

In their joint study, the researchers proposed the utilization 3,5-dicyanopyridine motifs for designing electroactive materials suitable for optoelectronic devices. They synthesized three new electron-transporting semiconductors and extensively characterized their high triplet energies. The best performance was observed for the OLED containing 3,3′-di(9H-carbazol-9-yl)-1,1′-biphenyl as a host (EQE= 21.9%)

The research has been published in the Journal of Materials Chemistry C (IF=8.067).
