On April 19th (2023), the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis (LIOS) had the honour of welcoming the Italian ambassador to Latvia, Alessandro Monti. As part of his visit, Mr. Monti had the opportunity to tour several of our research laboratories, including our new Biotechnology facility. The ambassador was particularly impressed with the institute’s commitment to sustainability, innovative care, and the European dimension of research.
During his visit, the ambassador met Italian scientists working in LIOS – Biotechnology group leader Emilio Parisini and researcher Rossella Castagna. It was an opportunity for the ambassador to engage with his compatriots who are contributing to cutting-edge research and innovation at LIOS.
