The world’s leading chemists, including Nobel Prize laureates, have joined forces in a shared and selfless initiative: to prepare and deliver online lectures together with their colleagues – scientists in Ukraine. The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine has brought these lectures together on the Kharkiv Chemical Seminar platform.
For Ukrainian researchers, this living connection offers a vital opportunity to remain engaged with the global scientific community, even when access to laboratories or participation in international conferences is not possible.
Ukrainian scientists have chosen to share this lecture collection, accumulated over four years, by opening it to their friends and colleagues – chemists around the world.
The library is continuously expanded with new lectures. Among the speakers and their lectures are:
- Prof. Roald Hoffmann (Cornell University, USA), Nobel Prize Laureate – The Chemical Imagination at Work in Very Tight Places
- Prof. Jean-Marie Lehn (University of Strasbourg, France), Nobel Prize Laureate – Steps Towards Complex Matter: Chemistry!
- Prof. Ferenc Krausz (Max Planck Institute, Germany) – From Attosecond Physics to Infrared Molecular Fingerprinting
- Prof. Thomas Bein (University of Munich, Germany) – Photons, Excitons and Electrons in Covalent Organic Frameworks
LIOS has also received this generous gift from our Ukrainian colleagues and continues to pass it on.
We are pleased to share this remarkable repository of knowledge in Latvia as well. Scientists, students and all curious minds are invited to explore, listen and draw inspiration from the world’s leading voices in chemistry:
